There is a chromosomal condition which occurs in both animals and plants which is different from the usual in that the kinetochore or centromere is referred to as diffuse. Now, this simply means that when such a chromosome is fragmented, the fragment doesn't lag at anaphase but has the ability to move to the poles along with the rest of the chromosomes.
